About 3 years ago, I wanted to reduce my family's exposure to toxins and plastics in our home so after clearing out all those kid friendly cups and bowls, I realized it was just the tip of the iceberg. The plastic was everywhere and it opened my eyes to the waste our family was creating at every turn. The next thing I knew we were composting, cloth diapering and shopping much more consciously.
But when I would look for advice, I found that a "zero waste" lifestyle can feel unattainable and unrealistic for those of us in the thick of family life and child rearing. Much respect to those who can, but I cannot fit our trash in a mason jar.
Here it's zero-ISH waste and sustainable sustainability. Cleaner eating and greener living. Big changes and small ones. Big wins, concessions and fails. It's a work in progress and a journey.
Above all, there is a lot of grace.
